    Sharing you iMovie with Others

    Once you have finished editing your movie and it is just the way you want it to share with others. You must begin the share process.


    Once the menu bar select share. There are six options for you to choose from.

    Share to...

    iTunes - this is where the movie will be located and played on your computer.

    Media Browserallows the video to be viewed with other applications such as iDVD or iWeb (if you have a Mac email or mac account $99 per year).

    YouTube formats the movie for an upload to YouTube or TeacherTube.


    Export Movie...

    Export using QuickTime...

    Export to Final Cut XML... Works only with the Final Cut Pro series. Professional Editing Software

    (approx. $500)

    Choose the size of your Project in iTunes


    Publishing to iTunes


    Sizes are...

    Tiny 176x144 (iPhone or iTouch)
    Mobile 480x272 (iPhone, iTouch and/or Computer)
    Medium 640x360 (iPod, TV, or Computer)
    Large 960x540 (TV or Computer)




    Think about where/how you plan to share the movie you have created.


    Select Publish when you have made your size choice.

    If you are planning to put your movie on the Internet in a website or with other application, select Media Browser.

    Medium 640x360 (iPod, TV, Computer, MobileMe or YouTube)

    Select Publish when you have made your size choice.


    Save Exported File as...

    Save As: Give the movie a name.

    Select the location to save the movie.


    Export: This is the format you will be using to save your movie.

    These are the different formats you can use to save your movie in.

    Formats are self explanatory.


    The two most popular formats are:

    iMovie to MPEG-4 (Apple - iTunes - iPhone, iTouch)

    Movie to QuickTime Movie (Most selected as it plays in both Apple and Windows environments)
